MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service and Google have reached an agreement on basic principles of an amicable deal, but are still discussing details, the watchdog’s Deputy Director Anatoly Golomolzin told reporters on Thursday.
“There are basic principles which we take as a guideline (when signing amicable agreements); it’s fulfilment of warrants and measures to eliminate consequences. Google agrees with the basic points of the amicable deal, with details still being negotiated,” Golomolzin said.
“A date for hearings on the matter was defined. The agreement should be confirmed by a court decision. The work on the agreement is still on. Discussions are under way.”
The Arbitration Court of the Moscow District delayed on Monday until April 17 hearings of a cassation appeal of Google against decisions of two lower courts upholding the antitrust.
The authority found Google guilty of abusing dominance on the market of preinstalled application stores on Android devices. The service said earlier it was ready for an amicable deal if Google admits its guilt and mends breaches.
The antitrust service fined Google 438 million rubles, or 9% of its turnover on the application store market in the country in 2014 and punished Google Inc. and Google Ireland Ltd. with 500,000 rubles each. All penalties were challenged.
